About Me:
I am an undergrad student at the UW studying psychology and nursing. I am interested in (ready for this?) neuropsychopharmocology. Brain chemistry! What it does, why it does it. I aspire, someday, to begin my own practice as a nurse-practitioner and medical advocate, to assist people in navigating their way through the bureaucratic healthcare systems we have in our nation. Outside of academics, I stay (pleasantly in)sane through circus arts and dance. I am learning partner acrobatics, a little handbalancing, and a little contortion. Firedancing is a little bit of an addiction.
My introduction to the dance community was almost precisely a year ago, when I began trading acrobatics and poi knowledge for swing dance lesson with one of my dance partners, Ryan. All went well, and in due time blues got thrown into the mix and the Harlequin Hipsters materialized from a team/ tribe/ family of blues dancers who came together on Tuesday nights at Waid's. The Harlequin Hipsters are an acrobatic social dance troupe who synthesize social dances like salsa, swing, blues, and tango with hip-hop, modern dance, contact dance, circus arts, object manipulation, clowning, and just about anything else you can think of! The streets are our preferred place of play, but we'll take paying gigs, too. (I guess...:])
Talk to me about dancing to non-traditional music! (think dub-step, trip-hop, or Balkan marching tunes)

I think this site is astoundingly useful, and I want Seattle dancers to use it!
